This weekend, several hundred costumed participants will parade in Sarlat for the 104th Félibrée.

From July 4 to 6, 2025, the town of Sarlat-la-Canéda, a medieval gem listed as a Town of Art and History, will host the 104th Félibrée, a major Occitan festival held annually in a commune in the Dordogne region. A true anthem to Occitan culture, the Félibrée transforms the town into an open-air stage, featuring garlands of paper flowers, traditional dances, popular music, costumed parades, crafts, and gastronomy. For this 104th edition, the chosen theme (Sarlat from yesterday to tomorrow) will showcase its heritage while anchoring it in the present. In addition to thousands of visitors, the event will welcome 1,600 children and 400 volunteers. For months, these volunteers have been busy making tens of thousands of paper flowers that will adorn the streets, arches, and shop windows.

A rich program

Friday's program includes a children's ball in the early afternoon, followed by a school performance, a musical aperitif, and a traditional ball at around 9:30 p.m. On Saturday, there will be dancing, the planting of the Félibrée tree, and a Peiraguda concert. On Sunday, 400 participants will parade in costume before a large Occitan meal and the closing ball.

The 104th Félibrée, from Friday, July 4 to 6. Admission starts at 1 p.m. (€3) on Saturday, and at 8 a.m. (€6) on Sunday.
