Verges. The 4 Castles Hikes are back for the 13th edition

Organized by the Roller and Hockey Club Lédonien, the Randos des 4 châteaux will take place on Sunday, July 6 at the Château de Verges.
The marked and cleaned routes will differ from those of the 2024 circuits. They were created by people who know the region well and are adept at the various disciplines offered. Some sections are new, unique, and off the beaten track, with a constant search for the most beautiful trails and the best viewpoints.
Through must-see sitesDepending on the chosen route, sports enthusiasts can discover the Reculée de Baume-les-Messieurs from the Granges-sur-Baume viewpoint, the shepherd's huts, the medieval castle of Mirebel, Bonnefontaine, the karst trails, Verges and its castle. But also the remains of the Lons - Champagnole metre gauge railway line, the tunnel and the station which has now become the Montaigniers gîte, the old Lons - Saint-Claude and Lons - Champagnole railway lines, the ruins of the Binans and Beauregard castles, the Châlain lake, the Roman camp of Sermu, Crançot, the Fontaine en Serein, the 7 mills of Ladoye-sur-Seille, the Croix du Dan and the turning stone...
A total of twelve trails are offered, with the Château de Verges park serving as the starting and finishing points for all. Departures will be from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. (before 9:30 a.m. for the long trails).
For mountain biking, the routes range from 15 to 64 km with a positive elevation gain of up to 800 m: 15 km (€6) family, elevation gain of 150 m; 29 km (€6) elevation gain of 250 m; 37 km (€7) elevation gain of 300 m; 46 km (€8) elevation gain of 400 m; 54 km (€9) elevation gain of 500 m; 64 km (€10) elevation gain of 800 m.
Walkers and trail runners can embark on a 5 km course (€7) with a 130 m elevation gain, a 15 km course (€8) with a 450 m elevation gain or a 19 km course (€9) with a 600 m elevation gain.
By bike the choice will be between 41 km (€7) elevation gain 427 m; 85 km (€8) elevation gain 1,039 m; or 115 km (€9) elevation gain 1,496 m.
