A ton of waste avoided thanks to the Repair Café in Cavalaire

The Cavalair'Repair Café association has just celebrated its first anniversary and, as a birthday present, proudly announced a success: having saved its first ton of waste.

In a festive atmosphere, members, elected officials and some representatives of the Repair'Café du Plan-de-la-Tour were present for this event.

The Repair Café is open the first and third Saturday of the month, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., and is closed during the summer, from mid-July to the end of August.

1 Ten caring volunteers

" The Cavalair'Repair Café is a friendly place and we are very proud of this first ton of waste saved ," emphasizes Alain Gaufriau, president of the CRC. "What better way to maintain great encounters than to organize our first anniversary? We feel it is essential to mark the occasion ."

Today, fifteen members bring the association to life: five sit on the board of directors and ten volunteer repairers put their talents to the service of others, sometimes performing real miracles.

All in a warm atmosphere, they find solutions for almost everything, where good humor is as precious as screwdrivers!

Bernard Guyot-Tabet, vice-president of the association, explains the desire for this solidarity enterprise: " We knew there was a need, but now we are responding to a real demand. People leave happy with the work of our repairers, who often find a solution to their broken item ."

Growing success: since January, the association has 185 members.

2 A source of savings

Marco Doylliez, a loyal customer, testifies: " I come every time I have a problem. They are the best. They have already repaired a computer, a vacuum cleaner, and now my screwdriver, which I received as a gift and which brings back very good memories. Plus, I am saving a lot of money! " Philippe Tollemans, who came to the dike premises for the first time, with his coffee machine under his arm, confides: " It's my first experience here, and I find them really very friendly. "
