INSEE Grand Est has published a study revealing significant inequalities in access to post-baccalaureate training. In Lorraine, Nancy and Metz attract the largest number of high school graduates thanks to their universities, specialized schools, BTS (advanced technical diplomas), preparatory classes, and more. Conversely, some areas, such as Remiremont, Saint-Avold, and Sarrebourg, are less well-equipped. View these gaps as well as the number and type of training courses offered.

After the baccalaureate exams, another crucial test is required: that of the wishes to be expressed on Parcoursup , the post-baccalaureate registration platform.

This year, 980,000 applicants submitted their applications, compared to 945,500 last year. The admissions phase will close on July 10.

As our infographic below shows, territorial inequalities are striking in Lorraine with regard to post-baccalaureate training.

The most under-resourced areas are Remiremont, Saint-Avold, and Sarrebourg. These areas are severely lacking in post-baccalaureate training, forcing new high school graduates to leave their area to pursue higher education.

Conversely, Nancy and Metz benefit from a very rich range of training courses.
