In Rians, the Sainte-Catherine area is on the right track

Community representatives met one last time before the summer break to discuss several topics. The first topic of discussion was the development project for the Sainte-Catherine de Rians business park, a gateway to the Var region and the intercommunity, which enjoys a strategic location thanks to the influence of the Aix-Marseille metropolitan area. The activities that will be represented there are primarily related to crafts and commerce.
But it also aims to create job-creating activities, provide new services to the population, prevent commercial evasion and thus limit travel, make the area attractive and eliminate the image of a dormitory village, while preserving and enhancing the natural spaces of the site.
The development program for this 5.2-hectare site should allow for the implementation of a comprehensive forecast program of construction (13,000 m² of floor space for craft activities and 5,000 m² of floor space for shops and services). Other services or facilities could also be considered, such as tertiary activities or liberal professions.
Access will be from the current roundabout (no access from the RD3), with a concentration of activities to the north of the sector in order to preserve the landscaped setting and the field of vision from the departmental road, to reinforce the vegetation, safeguard the green framework in the center and on the periphery of the site and combat heat islands. The overall cost of the operation, including land acquisitions and studies, development and marketing costs is estimated at approximately 5.5 million euros . The elected officials unanimously adopted the project.
More than 130,000 euros for associationsThe elected officials also discussed changes to the preparation of grant applications. Applications increased this year: €133,600 was awarded (including €63,900 to associations working in the social sector, and €69,700, outside the social sector). In addition, €77,190 was granted to the Local Mission. Unanimous approval.
Finally, the last point to note is that an agreement has been signed with the municipality of Seillons-Source-d'Argens to provide municipal land for the upgrading and compliance of the recycling center (5,000 m²). In return, the community of communes has agreed to reclaim the roads leading to the recycling center. This agreement allows for the inclusion of new sorting and reuse sectors.
