Nicolas Goyard from Carqueiranne takes fifth place at the iQFoil World Windsurfing Championships, Tom Arnoux takes silver

The Var windsurfer, who had a great qualifying round, only needed a second-place finish in the semifinals to advance to the four-man final. But the 2021 world champion, who had a good start, crashed just before turning the second leeward mark, leaving Brazilian Mateus Isaac and his compatriot Tom Arnoux to secure the two qualifying spots for the final round.

In this high-flying semi-final, Dutchman Kieran Badloe, Olympic windsurfing champion (without foil) at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, took the wrong route, finishing fourth in a race held in beautiful conditions, with a 15-knot wind and bright waters.

In the end, Nicolas Goyard, licensed with ACPV Nouméa and a member of the Army of Champions, finished fifth in the event, his best finish in this competition since 2021 and his title won at Lake Silvaplana (Switzerland). Marseille's Tom Arnoux (25 years old) became vice-world champion, achieving the best result of his career behind British favorite Andy Brown and ahead of Italy's Nicolo Renna (3rd).
