Since the start of the season and for the first time in the Tour de France, the International Cycling Union (UCI) has implemented a yellow card system. Deligne.
After a week of racing, several Tour de France riders have received yellow cards, notably following massive crashes. This new sanction, sought this season by the International Cycling Union (UCI), does not appear to be unanimously accepted.

This is a new development that is causing a stir. Since the start of the season and for the first time on the Tour de France, the International Cycling Union (UCI) has implemented a yellow card system, in an attempt to discipline an ever faster peloton. As the riders conclude the first week of competition on Friday, July 11, between Saint-Malo and Mûr-de-Bretagne Guerlédan, it's clear that this system isn't unanimously approved. Implemented as part of the "SafeR" program, which is supposed to improve safety during races, the yellow card allows stewards to sanction actions such as irregular sprints, throwing objects, dangerous behavior in the peloton, or even the abusive use of assistance.
