Women's Euro 2025: Shunned by TF1 in favor of PSG, the French women's match on Sunday will finally be broadcast on France 2

From tenth to second place. The French team's match at the Women's Euro 2020 on Sunday, July 13 at 9 p.m., which was scheduled to be broadcast on TMC, will finally be shown on France 2, the France Télévision group announced on Friday, July 11.
The match against the Netherlands is not very important. It is indeed the last of the group stage for the Blues, who have already qualified thanks to their two victories against England and Wales . Initially scheduled for TF1, the match had been canceled in favor of that of PSG, who will play at the same time the final of the Club World Cup - a minor competition -, against Chelsea. The Tricolores were to land on the 10th channel, TMC, which belongs to the Bouygues group.
But after "an agreement with TF1," which holds the broadcasting rights, the French players will be broadcast on the public service. This will " provide the best possible visibility for the women's football team," the broadcasting group wrote on its X account this Friday.
After some of them were angered by their cancellation in favor of PSG, this turnaround delighted the French women and their entourage. "Thank you to France 2 and TF1 for this agreement in favor of women's football," coach Laurent Bonadei reacted on Instagram.
Several key players, such as captain Griedge Mbock , Grace Geyoro and Sakina Karchaoui also shared this announcement on their accounts. "It's very positive, we're happy because it will allow more visibility, it's very good news for women's football," said defender Elisa De Almeida during a press conference in Switzerland two days before the match. "It's up to us to do what we need to do to increase the audience," continued substitute striker Kelly Gago.
Before France Télévisions' announcement, French midfielder Oriane Jean-François spoke to the press about her "disappointment." "We're unlucky, our three group matches were played during the Club World Cup. Obviously a little disappointed, but that's still PSG. Between a final and a group match, TF1 chose a final," she reacted.
In France, the Club World Cup matches are broadcast on the DAZN platform . However, TF1 has acquired the rights to two of them: PSG's debut in mid-June and Sunday's final.
The Parisians' first match, a 4-0 victory against Atlético Madrid, attracted 3.8 million viewers on France 2's One channel on June 15, the highest rating across all channels that evening. Meanwhile, the French team's 4-1 defeat of Wales at the Euro on Wednesday night also helped France 2 beat the competition, attracting nearly 2.9 million viewers.
Their inaugural victory on Saturday (2-1) against defending champions England attracted 2.8 million viewers on TF1. On May 31, PSG's victory over Inter Milan (5-0) in the Champions League final was watched by 11.8 million viewers on M6 and Canal + channels.
