TEST - This motorcycle, which harks back to the glorious days of the Paris-Dakar rally, has lost none of its splendor.

Heir to the legendary XT 500, the first Ténéré, powered by a 600cc single- cylinder engine, was launched more than forty years ago. Synonymous with adventure and wide open spaces, its success has not waned since. The latest generation of its successor, released in 2019, shares the 700cc vertical twin- cylinder engine with the MT-07 roadster . To mark the mandatory transition to the Euro 5+ standard, it is now being upgraded. The engine, however, retains its characteristics, with a power of 73 hp and a maximum torque of 68 Nm (there is a 47.5 hp version for A2 licenses), but it adopts a “ride by wire” electronic accelerator and traction control which give it a slightly more docile character.

From the larger TFT color screen to the new switchgear, including the left one with a joystick, there are a host of new features. While the overall design remains unchanged, the front end, sides, and fuel tank have also been reworked to give the model...
