A collision between a car and a scooter in Borgarello, in the province of Pavia, has left three dead.

Three people died in an accident that occurred around 6:00 PM on the former state road 35 between Pavia and Borgarello . According to initial reports, the high-speed head-on collision involved a car and a scooter.

The two riders on a scooter, a man and a woman, were thrown from their seats and ended up on the tree-lined bank of the Navigliaccio. The driver of the car traveling toward Borgarello (Pavia), while the scooter was traveling toward Pavia, also died at the hospital. The impact was very violent.

The man driving the car was 77 years old. The two people on the scooter were both 47 years old and lived in the nearby municipality of Certosa (Pavia). The 77-year-old was resuscitated on the scene by emergency responders, but died from his serious injuries. Pavia local police have launched an investigation to reconstruct the accident.
