The international agency Qs - Quacquarelli Symonds has published the results of the Qs World University Rankings 2026, a global reference for students, businesses and the scientific community. The survey examined 8,467 universities in 106 countries - 49% more than the previous edition - and made public only the first 1,501 positions.
The University of Padua ranks 233rd in the world, gaining three positions compared to last year, and fourth in Italy, confirming its permanence in the band that represents approximately one percent of the most prestigious universities at an international level. The University of Padua records significant progress in several indicators. The International Research Network, which represents the international research network and joint publications, gains nine positions to 70th. Academic reputation improves by ten positions, reaching 119th place, as well as corporate reputation also rises by ten positions (341st).
Further positive signals come from the sustainability indicator, where the University of Padua maintains its 110th place worldwide and is first among Italian universities. The Employer Outcome indicator - which measures the quality and success of graduates in the labor market - jumps thirty-five positions, settling at 555th place. "These results - comments the rector Daniela Mapelli - testify to the virtuous path undertaken by the University of Padua. The growth in academic and corporate reputation confirms the prestige recognized to our University by the international scientific community and the manufacturing world for high-quality research and training. The excellent positioning in the International Research Network demonstrates the vitality of our research collaborations with excellent partners around the world. The first place at national level in sustainability, in a global context increasingly attentive to the issue, recognizes the integration of environmental, social and good governance values in all our activities".
In recent days, the results of two other rankings have also been published, in which the University confirms a good performance at a global level and remains on the podium at a national level: The Impact Ranking which measures the institutions' commitment to respecting the 17 objectives of the 2030 Agenda and US News Best Global Universities which is the reference ranking for the US student population.
