Ance Veneto, Paduan Alessandro Gerotto confirmed as president

Ance Veneto, Paduan Alessandro Gerotto confirmed as president

Alessandro Gerotto has been confirmed as president of Ance Veneto, the regional builders' association, for the two-year term 2025-2027.

Gerotto thanked the Council of Territorial Presidents for their trust and emphasized that the work of Veneto builders has always been focused on protecting construction companies, which in recent years have been on the front lines of driving the post-Covid economic recovery and bearing the brunt of wars around the world. Ottaviano De Biasi was elected vice president, while Alex Saggia, a builder from Rovigo, will be treasurer. The Members' Assembly is represented by the respective territorial presidents: Monica Grosselle (Padua), Giovanni Salmistrari (Venice), Ottaviano De Biasi (Rovigo-Treviso), Carlo Trestini (Verona), Paolo De Cian (Belluno), and Claudio Pozza (Vicenza). "My confirmation," Gerotto said, "is nothing less than confirmation of the entire Veneto builders' association's commitment to supporting our companies and our sector in the face of the challenges that arise in a constantly evolving regional, national, and global context. These challenges concern mitigating the environmental impacts of our sector, digitalization, and the introduction of artificial intelligence in construction processes, enforcement of legality, urban regeneration, and infrastructure development in our region. We have one of the most up-to-date price lists in Italy and a vast network of collaborations and interactions with relevant institutions. Today's builders are a category endowed with the highest levels of professionalism, a spirit of sacrifice, and a creative capacity, thanks to which we will be able to face the near future with renewed energy and vision in the general interest of the community. We will continue to ask policymakers to share our commitment to countering uncertainty and hasty decisions. And we will continue to collaborate ever more closely with trade unions, other employers' associations, and professional associations, particularly those of engineers and architects, with whom we share training, refresher courses, and proposals.

Gerotto adds: "In recent days, Ance has invested heavily in new measures for urban regeneration, funding for provincial roads, and finding a solution to the high cost of materials, due to the ongoing wars, but also to financial speculation. Regarding the heatwave ordinance, we asked the Veneto Region to move beyond the emergency perspective and open a discussion table to reach more effective decisions. Construction companies, represented by Ance, have always adopted measures and precautions. But if you want to codify everything, then you have to at least do it well and go into detail. Furthermore, let's not forget that the world is constantly changing. Demographic data tells us that massive numbers of workers over sixty are exiting the labor market, and the shortage of labor will be a life-or-death problem for businesses. In some of our provinces, foreign workers have already outnumbered Italians."

Gerotto concludes: "There's a lot of work to do, and we're ready, as always, to roll up our sleeves. But let's be clear: we can't tackle the many challenges on the table alone. The entire ANCE system is highly motivated and renewed, and in recent years it has made a significant contribution to protecting its own interests and also to sharing the progress of our entire region. Today, more than ever, ANCE is charged with the responsibility of offering a valuable and increasingly decisive contribution to helping our Region and our country regain stable and lasting well-being, as well as peace and growth prospects for all."
