Foggia and province, the weather forecast: sunny and hot over the weekend, but instability returns mid-week

It will be a summer-like weekend that awaits the province of Foggia, with clear skies and temperatures rising sharply. According to weather forecasts, in fact, between Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 June the African anticyclone will once again dominate the scene, bringing good weather and temperatures well above seasonal averages.

Weekend of full sun and first 32 degrees in the plains

Over the city of Foggia and the entire Tavoliere plain, the sky will remain clear or at most slightly cloudy for the duration of the weekend. The maximum temperatures will fluctuate between 30 and 32 degrees, with higher peaks in the central hours of the day. The winds will be light and variable in direction, with some northerly gusts along the coast on Sunday. In coastal locations, such as Vieste , Peschici and Manfredonia , the maximum temperatures will remain slightly more contained, around 28-29 degrees, but with a pleasantly breezy climate.

Start of the week still stable, then the risk of storms returns

The weather will also remain stable and sunny on Monday 10 and Tuesday 11 June throughout the province. Temperatures will remain high, with highs between 29 and 33 degrees, especially in inland areas such as Lucera, San Severo and Cerignola. However, from Wednesday 12 June a first weakening of the high pressure is expected: the entry of cooler currents at high altitude could favor the formation of afternoon thunderstorms, especially in the hilly and mountainous areas of Gargano and on the Dauni Mountains .

Localized but also intense phenomena, with risk of hailstorms and gusts of wind, could affect the reliefs during the afternoon, to then run out in the evening. The trend towards instability seems to be confirmed also for Thursday and Friday, while the following weekend the good weather could return again.

Beware of the heat and the first heat-related discomforts

With the temperature rise underway since Saturday, an increase in humidity is also reported, especially in the evening and night hours. The heat will be more muggy along the coastal strip and in the urban areas of the Tavoliere. Particular attention is advised for the most fragile groups of the population and it is recommended to avoid intense physical activity during the hottest hours.
