Arzano calls, music answers: the festival for peace that unites generations and consciences

Arzano calls, music answers: the festival for peace that unites generations and consciences

Four evenings. A municipal villa. A simple but radical idea: using music as a social, emotional and political lever. “Music for Peace” , in its third edition with the artistic direction of Lino Vairetti, confirms itself as the beating heart of the Campania summer. A project born from the Municipality of Arzano, strongly supported by the mayor Cinzia Aruta and the councilor Chiara Guida, which makes culture a gentle battlefield, but no less effective for that.

We start on Thursday, July 10th with a touching tribute: “Anima” , dedicated to Pino Daniele. Elisabetta Serio, the pianist who understood him the most, builds a live that breathes nostalgia and love. With her, Stè on vocals and a thrilling string and wind ensemble.

Friday 11th is the turn of the home talent: Simona De Rosa returns to her Arzano with the grace of jazz and the strength of experience. Her language is free, contemporary, ranging from prog to fusion. Opening, the young promises of “Una Voce in Campania”: the new scene that grows with Neapolitan pride.

Saturday 12th the volume is raised and the compromise is lowered. The 99 Posse bring the resisting Naples to the square. A set that starts from “Curre Curre Guagliò” and goes straight to the heart with the tracks of the latest album. Rap, dub, bass, militancy and courage. The formula has been the same since '90, and it still works very well.

The grand finale on Sunday 13th is by Maurizio Capone & BungtBangt : recycled instruments, words that weigh, rhythms that split. “Femmena, Vita e Libertà” is a raw and necessary ode to women's battles. No concessions, only truth staged with energy and poetry.

At a time when many festivals are similar, Musica per la Pace has a strong identity: that of a territory that is not afraid to look inside itself, nor to speak clearly. Free admission, but with a very high civil and cultural value. Here, music has a meaning. And it does good.
