Bogota: Uribe undergoes emergency surgery after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage.

The Santa Fe Foundation in Bogotá has published on its official X account the 16th medical bulletin on the health of presidential candidate Miguel Uribe Turbay, who has been hospitalized since June 7, when he was the victim of an attack in the Colombian capital. The medical bulletin states that the senator from the right-wing Democratic Center party is in "critical condition due to a hemorrhage in the central nervous system" which "has significantly altered his evolution in the last 48 hours, requiring emergency neurosurgery." Uribe Turbay remains under "comprehensive and multidisciplinary management in the Intensive Care Unit," and, given this situation, "neuromuscular blockade" has been restarted and "deep sedation" has been activated. He will also receive "permanent hemodynamic and neurological monitoring."
Yesterday, Colombia's Council of State granted the request for loss of investiture filed by union leader Carlos Alberto Sánchez Grass against Senator Uribe Turbay for alleged proselytism. Infobae reported this, specifying that the proceedings have been suspended while the presidential pre-candidate remains unable to appear in court.
