Vannacci against the Northern League governors on the third term: "A law now would be ad personam"

Vannacci against the Northern League governors on the third term: "A law now would be ad personam"

In the home of Doge Zaia , in Belluno the “case” has exploded. General Roberto Vannacci has questioned the third mandate: “The hat trick? A law now would be ad personam”. The fact has just happened, but now we are waiting for Matteo Salvini , the leader of the Northern League, to clarify who he is aligned with. Now that there was the opening of Fratelli d’Italia to let Zaia run, Vannacci arrives to complicate things.

In fact, during his tour of Veneto, the new federal vice secretary of the Carroccio, the general, has put the members of the Northern League who are aiming for a third term for Zaia, Fedriga and Fugatti in an even worse mood. Zaia in particular is ready to run again in Veneto and is the thoroughbred that, in words, the leader Salvini does not want to give up despite the tug of war in the center-right with his allies.

However, the League took home a point, because Melonian Donzelli, after much suffering, gave the green light to a third mandate. When the general arrives, in his stop in Veneto in Belluno, former general Vannacci had his say: "I am for respecting the rules, there can be twenty mandates but if there is a rule that provides for a maximum of two, it must be respected, then the rules can be changed. However, during elections it seems like a measure ad personam".

For the Lega members, it is a blasphemous reasoning, put like that, and no one expected to have Vannacci against the governors in the Lega. But that's how it is. The path foreseen up to now has been that of a center-right table on the issue with the Lega aiming to bring home the third mandate and the candidacies in Veneto and Friuli. On the third mandate, the distances in the center-right remain. Tajani, the leader of Forza Italia, is and remains against it, but that the Lega had an enemy at home was not foreseen. That mantra of Vannacci "Strange to change before the elections", will create confusion. Already this morning Zaia is asking for explanations and with the governors of Friuli and Trentino Fedriga and Fugatti will take stock. Tajani has an unexpected ally in Vannacci.
