White smoke in Parliament: Daniele Porena elected to the CSM

The joint session of Parliament's third ballot to elect a member of the CSM to replace Rosanna Natoli , nominated by the Brothers of Italy party, ended in a white smoke. Professor Daniele Porena received 333 votes in favor (the quorum was 287) and was therefore elected. There were 123 blank ballots and 21 invalid ones.
The required quorum was 287 votes, Porena obtained 333. No abstentions, no dispersed votes, 21 invalid ballots and 123 blank ballots (the opposition forces).
After nearly a year of suspension, on June 15, lawyer Rosanna Natoli resigned from the Superior Council of the Judiciary, thus opening the succession process. The Fratelli d'Italia councilor, a friend of Senate President Ignazio La Russa , is under investigation in Catania for revealing official secrets.
The case exploded a year ago when Carlo Taormina , lawyer for Catania judge Maria Fascetto Sivillo , filed during a hearing of the disciplinary section a secret recording of the conversation between his client and Natoli, then a member of the disciplinary section of the CSM.
