Boxing match ends in tragedy: two fighters die one after the other

Two boxers die in a matter of hours: dramatic epilogue to two matches

The story comes from Japan, specifically from the city of Tokyo. A boxing event was being held at the Korakuen Hall, but two of the scheduled matches ended tragically, resulting in the deaths of two boxers. The first to lose his life was 28-year-old Shigetoshi Kotari: he was competing in a bout against Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation super featherweight champion Yamato Hata when he lost consciousness. He was taken to the hospital and underwent brain surgery for a subdural hematoma, but the procedure was unsuccessful: the boxer's death was announced on August 9th .

Another 28-year-old boxer, Hiromasa Urakawa, died around the same time. He also underwent surgery following his match against Yoji Saito, which he lost due to brain damage. The operation also failed.
