Giunio De Sanctis is the new president of the Cip

Giunio De Sanctis is the new president of the Italian Paralympic Committee. The president of the Federbocce succeeds Luca Pancalli. De Sanctis, the sole candidate, during the National Elective Council of the Cip 2025/2028, obtained 54 votes with two blank ballots.

''Being president of the Cip is the role that gives me the most joy and satisfaction in my entire career, this is another goal that I have achieved but I hope it is the last of my career, where I have been able to take care of everything. This is the most prestigious, coveted and heartfelt role''. Thus the new president of the Cip and former president of the Italian bowls federation Marco Giunio De Sanctis in his speech after his election as the new president.

''I feel a pleasure and a satisfaction of extraordinary importance, this is the culmination of 50 years of very hard work. I have so many memories and so many images pervade me, I think back to the dawn of what was the Paralympic movement with desks adapted in an office that was a sort of locker room given by Coni, I think back to 2017 when we became a Committee. I must say, the beginning was not easy because with Luca (Pancalli, ed.) we were not in line and it was a cause of suffering given that we were fraternal friends but it is part of the competition and of the sport".

At the same time, Francesco Ambrosio, Linda Casalini, Sandro Di Girolamo, Renato Di Napoli, Riccardo Giubilei, Franco Riccobello and Mariano Salvatore were also elected to the Board as FSP-FSNP-DSP-DSAP representatives, Marco Ferrazza and Giulia Ghiretti as athletes' representatives, Riccardo Vernole as technicians' representative, Sira Miola as EPP/EPSP representative, Massimo Porciani for the Regional Committees and Salvatore Mussoni for the Provincial Delegates.
