Monte Argentario, June 11, 2025 – The Tuscan regional amateur boxing championship ended on June 2 in Carrara, which saw Pugilistica Argentario led by coach Francesco Fiorelli dominate in several categories. Gold medal and direct access to the final phase of the Italian championship to be held in Cattolica in mid-June for Lorenzo Amato, junior flyweight category, and Diego Troiani, junior lightweight category.
Troiani will not be able to participate in the championship for work reasons, an event only postponed to November for the Cintura d'Italia open that will be held at the Palazzetto delle Fiamme Oro in Rome. Silver medal for Cristian Chiara, master lightweight category, who for family reasons had to give up the final losing the gold by one point. Excellent performance for Jacopo Fanciulli, junior flyweight category, recovering from an injury to his right wrist that forced him to miss a stage of the championship, but thanks to a splendid victory in the final stage he won the bronze medal. Brando Camerlengo, Tiziano Pierfederici and Paolo Mantovani, respectively junior flyweight, master heavyweight and master middleweight category, all three forced to miss the penultimate and final stage of the regional championship for work reasons.
"I would like to point out how work motivations were the common denominator that influenced the final results of this championship - Fiorelli emphasizes -, which began in October and ended in June. Living in a territory like Argentario, many young people gave priority to tourism work, which here begins precisely during the most difficult phase of the regional championship. Without neglecting the importance of sport, a good coach does not only train athletes, but also future men who in life must give priority to family and work, I am proud of the boys".
