Sha'Carri Richardson arrested and released for assaulting her partner. No trials.

First came rumors of an arrest in Seattle, then her withdrawal from the US Track and Field Trials. American sprinter Sha'Carri Richardson is in the spotlight, having decided to cancel her participation in the US World Championships trials currently underway in Eugene, following news of a police arrest at Seattle airport last Sunday on charges of domestic violence against her boyfriend.
At the World Cup with a wild cardRichardson, who competed in the 100-meter heat, will still be eligible to compete in the World Championships in Tokyo (September 13-21) with a wild card as the defending champion. The Texan withdrew from the Trials, missing the 100-meter semifinal and also missing the 200-meter event, which she will therefore be unable to compete in Japan.
A day in prisonA mystery arose from the news that the champion had spent a day in the Des Moines jail, near Seattle, from Sunday, July 27, to Monday, July 28. The arrest report states that surveillance video captured an argument between Richardson and her boyfriend, Christian Coleman , the 2019 100-meter world champion. "Richardson followed Coleman, who tried to get away. Richardson then pushed Coleman with such force that he crashed into a column." The sprinter then allegedly threw an earpiece at Coleman, who refused to participate in the investigation and "to present himself as the victim." Richardson appeared smiling in the mixed zone after competing in the 100-meter heats and did not mention her arrest.
