The penultimate day of competition at the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore . Chiara Pellacani once again climbs onto the podium, taking gold in the synchronized swimming with Matteo Santoro and bronze in the 1-meter springboard. She now comes in third in the 3-meter springboard.

Sara Curtis missed the 50m freestyle final. After setting the Italian record in her heat, the 18-year-old Italian finished fifth (ninth overall) in her semifinal in 24.48.

Ceccon: "Now I want a fourth medal."

"I did a very fast first lap, which is what I was interested in. Then I went downhill on the return leg, but what I was interested in was swimming. I'd like to try for a fourth medal tomorrow in the relay. Tomorrow we'll give it our all." These were Thomas Ceccon 's words to Rai Sport after finishing eighth in the 100m butterfly final.

Thomas Ceccon finished eighth and last in the 100m butterfly final. The Italian finished with a time of 51.12, collapsing in the return leg after a strong first half. The gold medal went to France's Maxime Grousset in 49.62, silver to Switzerland's Noe Ponti (49.83), and bronze to Canada's Ilya Kharun (50.07).

Pilato and Bottazzo reach the finals of the 50m breaststroke

Benedetta Pilato and Anita Bottazzo qualified for Sunday's 50m breaststroke final. Pilato won her semifinal in 30.20, the third fastest overall. Bottazzo finished fourth in her second semifinal in 30.31 (seventh fastest overall). Lithuanian Ruta Meilutyte clocked a best time of 29.54.

McKeown wins gold in the 200m backstroke

Kaylee McKeown won the gold medal in the 200-meter backstroke. The Australian clocked a time of 2:03.33, beating American Regan Smith, who took silver in 2:04.29. Another American, Claire Curzan, took bronze in 2:06.04.

Pellacani: "The bronze medal is worth a lot; after Paris, I'd already made a note of it."

"I'm very excited about this medal; I really wanted it. Since I finished fourth in Paris, I've been pinning it on my heart, and I've worked hard. It means a lot to me." Chiara Pellacani spoke to RaiSport after winning bronze in the 3-meter springboard at the World Championships. Standing on the podium is "always the same feeling, you never get used to it. Seeing the two Chinese flags alongside the Italian one is indescribable," added the Italian, who also won a bronze in the 1-meter springboard and gold in the mixed synchronized swimming with Santoro. Her mind is already focused on the future: "I know what work needs to be done in preparation for the Olympics, and I'm ready to do it. Ultimately, results come at the right time, and I'll continue working until 2028 with the same goal." Then it's time for dedications: "I reiterate that there are so many people behind this medal. I thank the Fiamme Gialle (the Italian National Guard) who have supported me so much along this journey, letting me study and train in the United States. It's also thanks to them that I'm here. Then the dedication goes to my family and my coach."

Deplano 4th in the 50m freestyle

Leonardo Deplano placed fourth in the 50m freestyle final. The Tuscan swimmer clocked 21.52 seconds, missing the bronze medal by just six hundredths of a second. American Jack Alexy finished third in 21.46 seconds. Australian Cameron McEvoy (21.14 seconds) dominated, ahead of Britain's Benjamin Proud (21.26 seconds).

Pellacani wins bronze in the 3-meter springboard

Chiara Pellacani won the bronze medal in the 3-meter springboard. The Italian finished with 323.20 points, behind China's Yiwen Chen (gold with 389.70) and Jia Chen (silver with 356.40). The other Italian competitor, Elisa Pizzini (280.80), finished tenth. This is Pellacani's third medal in Singapore, following the gold medal with Matteo Santoro in the synchro event and the bronze in the 1-meter springboard .

Di Pietro seventh in the 50m butterfly final

Silvia Di Pietro placed seventh in the 50m butterfly final. The 32-year-old from Rome finished in 25.64, just two tenths of a second behind Belgian Roos Vanotterdijk's bronze medal (25.43). American Gretchen Walsh took gold in 24.83, ahead of Australian Perkins in 25.31.

Silvia Di Pietro will compete in the 50m butterfly final at 1:02 PM. The Italian will be in lane 7.

Diving, 3-meter springboard: Pellacani and Pizzini reach the final

Chiara Pellacani and Elisa Pizzini qualified for the three-meter springboard final at the World Diving Championships with fourth (310.80) and ninth places (283.80), respectively. Leading the way is Fukuoka champion Chen Yiwen with a score of 358.05.

The 4x100m freestyle mixed final

The 4x100m freestyle mixed race soars into the final with a bang. Manuel Frigo (48.47), Lorenzo Zazzeri (48.46), Chiara Tarantino (54.53), and a sensational Emma Virginia Menicucci (53.38) clocked the sixth fastest time in 3:24.84. Gold seems to be firmly in the hands of the United States, who clocked 3:21.48, clearly the fastest time. The other podium spots, however, are still open. Ahead of Italy are France (3:24.21), the Netherlands (3:24.31), Russia (3:24.46), and Spain (3:24.48).

Pilato and Bottazzo reach the semifinals of the 50m breaststroke

Separated by four hundredths of a second in the 50m breaststroke, Anita Bottazzo and Italian record holder Benedetta Pilato (29.30) easily advanced to the 50m breaststroke semifinal. The 22-year-old from Oderzo, Treviso, touched the mark in 30.42, pushing only in the final 15 meters, and finished seventh; the 20-year-old from Taranto finished eighth, swimming in 30.46. Ruta Meilutyte has been flying since the morning. The Lithuanian champion and world record holder finished in 29.82, the only one to dip under 30.

Sara Curtis set the Italian record in the 50m freestyle. During the morning heats, the 18-year-old from Savigliano swam a time of 24.41, qualifying for the semifinals with the third-fastest time overall.

Today's finals: the Azzurri compete

It's the penultimate day of competition at the World Championships in Singapore. Italian swimmers will compete in five events. The event kicks off at 1:02 PM with Silvia Di Pietro competing in the women's 50m butterfly final. Leonardo Deplano will compete in the 50m freestyle at 1:09 PM, Thomas Ceccon in the 100m butterfly at 1:41 PM, Simona Quadarella in the 800m freestyle at 2:18 PM, and the 4x100m medley relay at 2:53 PM .
