Active shooting leaves multiple victims at Fort Stewart military base in Georgia, USA.

A An active shooting with multiple victims was reported on Wednesday, August 6 at the Fort Stewart military base, Georgia , United States ( USA ), as confirmed by the installation's own command.

Through social media and official reports, videos were circulated showing soldiers running for safety while security protocols were activated on the premises. Authorities have not provided details on the alleged attacker 's condition, but an operation is ongoing to secure the area and assist the victims.

According to the New York Post , five soldiers were injured after the base commander ordered the facility to be locked down following the detection of an active shooter . The wounded were treated on-site and then transported to Winn Army Community Hospital .

The lockdown began at 11:04 a.m., affecting several areas of the base, including Wright and Evans Army Airfields , as well as three schools: Kessler, Murray, and Diamond Elementary Schools , Superintendent Brian Perry confirmed. Although no casualties have been reported, direct threat to schools , remained closed due to security protocol.

Law enforcement has identified a suspect but has not released his identity . According to the latest official update, "there is no active threat to the community."

Georgia Governor Brian Kemp issued a statement saying he was “ saddened ” by the tragedy and said his administration is in constant contact with authorities on the scene. “We ask everyone to keep the victims, their families, and military personnel in their thoughts and prayers .”

Fort Stewart is the largest Army installation in the eastern U.S. and home to more than 10,000 Soldiers and civilian employees.
