Axel Kicillof was the notable absentee from the PJ summit for Cristina Kirchner: Is the internal conflict reigniting?

The Justicialist Party (PJ) held a summit following the conviction of former PresidentCristina Kirchner , which disqualifies her from participating in the upcoming legislative elections. Within this framework, the Peronist party met to define its strategy, and the notable absentee at Matheu 130 was the governor of the province of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillof , who is estranged from the former president and has threatened on more than one occasion to present his own list.
In this context, and given his absence, the ghosts of internal conflict once again haunted Peronism. Despite this, hardline Kirchnerists assert that " it was not contemplated" to extend today's call to Peronist governors , and that is why Senator José Mayans said nothing to the provincial leader.
The party meeting, which was attended by non-Party Party figures such as the head of the Renovating Front, Sergio Massa ; the leader of Patria Grande (Patria Grande) Juan Grabois ; and former official Guillermo Moreno ; once again revealed internal fissures between La Plata and Kirchnerism, since the latter group leaked information that the senator from Formosa had indeed extended the invitation .
" He was invited by Mayans, but he didn't confirm whether he would go ," sources from the former president's coalition told NA. If so, Axel Kicillof has decided not to attend, and this would further ignite the Peronist internal conflict amid a fierce conflict with the courts over Cristina Kirchner's conviction.
Those closest to the former president claim there will be another meeting in the coming weeks exclusively for governors, and that's why no provincial leaders were invited to this event. However, at the PJ headquarters, Ricardo Quintela , governor of La Rioja, was observed listening attentively to what the top leaders were saying.
Furthermore, after the conclave, Quintela left the meeting in Matheu early to visit Fernández de Kirchner at his apartment in the Constitución neighborhood. This shows that the position offered by the K wing of Peronism seems inconsistent with what actually happened, further fracturing the political space.
Jorge Capitanich also participated in the meeting, although he is no longer the governor of Chaco. However, he is part of the group of provincial leaders who will receive an invitation in the coming days to define the strategy for the upcoming elections, which will no longer feature the former president in the political spotlight.
