Another American fistfight on the European table at the World Cup: Filipe Luis's Flamengo comes from behind to defeat Chelsea.

America continues to surprise Europe and the entire world. After Botafogo and Inter Miami 's victories over PSG and Porto , today it was Flamengo who pulled off another of the Club World Cup 's biggest upsets. The team coached by Filipe Luis , formerly of Atlético de Madrid, came from behind to defeat Chelsea and ultimately dominated the London side in a 3-1 victory, six points out of a possible six, and the top of their group on track for the round of 16.
European football is in the final stretch of its season, and American football is in the midst of it, but the World Cup is still producing some totally unexpected results. Porto has been one of the biggest disappointments, drawing with Palmeiras and losing to Inter Miami . But many others have suffered. Benfica held to a draw against Boca Juniors, as did Dortmund against Fluminense, and Inter Milan against Monterrey . On Thursday, PSG fell to Botafogo, and today it was Chelsea who bowed to a Flamengo side led by Bruno Henrique .
The 34-year-old striker overturned Pedro Neto 's opening goal with a goal and an assist in just three minutes, shortly after replacing De Arrascaeta in a key substitution by Filipe Luis.
Alongside him was 20-year-old Wallace Yan , who sealed the match in the 83rd minute with a 3-1 victory. After starting the tournament with a 2-0 victory over Esperance de Tunis, this victory leaves them one foot in the round of 16 and with a good chance of finishing first in Group D.
Chelsea, for their part, faded from the match. They started out dominant and effective, thanks to Pedro Neto's goal, but the passing minutes, the physicality, the heat, and the superior form of the Brazilians ultimately decided the match. Nico Jackson didn't help either, coming off the bench in the second half and ending up being sent off in his first attempt for a vicious tackle.
Flamengo, leaders of the Brasileirao or also led by veterans Jorginho, formerly of Chelsea, and Danilo , formerly of Madrid, who scored the second goal, calmly held their own in the final moments of the match and sealed an extraordinary comeback.
