Football fans flock to PSV: 'As long as it doesn't become Ajax'

Do you hope that PSV will win the title this afternoon, or Ajax? Fans of most other clubs prefer PSV, according to research by the RTL Nieuwspanel. In our tool below you can see for yourself how supporters of your club see that.

The RTL News Panel conducted research among almost 8,000 football fans from all over the country. Among them, Ajax is by far the most popular club: 34 percent cheer for the club from the capital, followed by Feyenoord (23 percent) and PSV (18 percent).

'Ajax arrogant'

But today, most football fans are for PSV, mainly because they don't want Ajax to win. "Ajax has only themselves to blame for not becoming champions, due to bad and uninspired play," says a panel member. "Oh, and they are arrogant," he adds.

Only in North Holland and Flevoland a majority hopes that Ajax will become champion. Other provinces are predominantly in favor of PSV.

Most football supporters of other Eredivisie clubs also hope that the trophy will be awarded to PSV. Only Almere City would prefer to see the trophy held aloft in Amsterdam.

PSV has it 'in their own hands'

The club from Eindhoven has the best chance of becoming champions today. After Ajax's hopeless 3-0 defeat against NEC and the draw against FC Groningen, and after PSV's victories over Feyenoord and Heracles, PSV has overtaken the Amsterdammers in the rankings. If PSV wins today, it will be champions of the Netherlands.
