International march to Gaza brings thousands of activists to Cairo
- On Thursday, thousands of activists from dozens of countries will gather in Cairo for the Global March to Gaza.
- They want to reach the Gaza border and call for an end to the humanitarian crisis and the war.
- It is questionable how far the activists will get, in Egypt demonstrating is prohibited, permission does not seem to be available and Dutch people, among others, have already been stopped
The war between Israel and Hamas has been going on for over a year and a half now, with tens of thousands of Palestinians dead. After an eleven-week blockade, emergency aid to Gaza is still very limited. Thousands of activists from dozens of countries travel to Cairo and then head to the Gaza border to demonstrate against the war.
