Top prize looms for Spurs and Van de Ven after tough season

Micky van de Ven is happy that Tottenham Hotspur can end a disappointing season with a major prize. "It was a tough year but we are only one win away from success", said the Dutch defender after the away win over Bodø/Glimt in the semi-final of the Europa League (0-2).
Dominic Solanke and Pedro Porro scored for Spurs at the Arctic Circle. Van de Ven had a starting spot and played a good game. Tottenham Hotspur had won the home game against the Norwegian club 3-1. "The conditions were tough," Van de Ven told British reporters. "We did well."
Manchester United will face Spurs in the final in Bilbao on 21 May. That team was again too strong for Athletic Club (4-1) without the injured Matthijs de Ligt and Joshua Zirkzee, after the away win in Bilbao (0-3). United and Spurs are fifteenth and sixteenth in the Premier League. The winner qualifies for the Champions League.
