China attacks Japan. This is what the first kei car from the Middle Kingdom looks like
According to reports from China, BYD is equipped with an LFP battery that significantly outperforms the 20 kWh batteries used by its Japanese competitors in terms of capacity and range. While the Japanese achieve a range of around 180 kilometers, BYD's model should be able to reach 300 km. The maximum charging power is to be 100 kW, and the engine power required by microcar regulations, i.e. 64 hp. The BYD K-Car will compete with competitors such as the Nissan Sakura and Mitsubishi eK X EV - two of Japan's best-selling electric kei cars.
