Father and son died. The court has made a decision. New information

The accident occurred late in the evening on a section of Wybrzeże Gdyńskie Street under renovation, near the Citadel. An Opel Vectra driven by a 24-year-old man veered into oncoming traffic, colliding head-on with a motorcycle and an Audi. The motorcycle was dismembered. The motorcycle driver, a 45-year-old man, died after being taken to hospital. A 13-year-old boy who was riding with him died the following morning.

He was hit and run. He was under the influence and had a driving ban.

The perpetrators fled the scene. Several hours later, they were arrested in hostels in Warsaw's Wawer district. They were 24-year-old Sebastian F. and 37-year-old Mariusz P., both Polish citizens. Police reported that the detainees were completely surprised and offered no resistance.

At the time of his arrest, Sebastian F. had a blood alcohol content of less than half a per mille. Officers also found a small amount of mephedrone in the car. Additionally, it turned out that the man had an active, three-year driving ban issued by the District Court in Radom. Mariusz P., who was a passenger, did not render aid to the victims.

– The court ordered a three-month arrest for Sebastian F., the perpetrator of the accident, and Mariusz P., a passenger who did not provide help – the District Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw reported on Saturday evening on platform X.

"Their versions differ"

Sebastian F. has been charged with causing a fatal accident, leaving the scene of an accident, and violating a court order. He faces between 5 and 20 years in prison. Mariusz P. will be charged with failing to provide aid, a felony punishable by up to 3 years in prison.

– The suspects provided very extensive explanations, although their versions differ on important issues – said prosecutor Piotr Antoni Skiba.
