Karolina Napiórkowska ran to West Pomerania with a mission to help flood victims

Early on Thursday morning (August 14), Karolina Napiórkowska crossed the border into the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, fulfilling her extraordinary plan to run 4,000 kilometers in 100 days to help flood victims in Żelazno. At the border with the Lubusz Voivodeship, near Kostrzyn, she was greeted by soldiers from the 14th West Pomeranian Territorial Defense Brigade.
The welcome was warm and extended beyond courtesy. In the heat and bright sun, Karolina and her Territorials traveled the 21 kilometers to Czelin.
"Karolina is proof that determination and heart can overcome any fatigue. We soldiers know what physical exertion is, but there's also the immense emotional strain and mission that unites people across the country," emphasizes Senior Corporal Arkadiusz Sekuła, spokesperson for the 14th West Pomeranian Territorial Defense Brigade.
Karolina Napiórkowska is running her campaign, "I'm Running for Flood Victims," to raise funds to rebuild the private primary school in Żelazno, which was destroyed in the flood. Her route across Poland is not only a sporting feat, but above all, a gesture of solidarity. Along the way, she's supported by residents, children with banners, and drivers honking in support.
In this extraordinary mission, Karolina is accompanied by soldiers of the Territorial Defense Forces, who not only run with her but also provide motivational support.
On Friday, Karolina set off on the next leg of her run, also accompanied by the West Pomeranian Territorials. This time, they aim to cover the full 40 kilometers. Each step brings her closer to the finish line in Kwidzyn, but above all, to her goal: rebuilding the school in Żelazno.
"This race is physically exhausting, but mentally it gives me enormous strength when I see how many people support this initiative. I know I'm not running alone – all of Poland is running with me," the runner concludes.
