The Equality March marched through the streets of Szczecin. LGBT community: "It's time for change"

The Equality March marched through the streets of Szczecin on Saturday. It was the seventh annual event in our city. Approximately one thousand people participated.
"I believe in inalienable human rights: freedom, equality, dignity for all," said Mikołaj Starzyński. "We're tired of pretending that everything is fine. We march because we love, and our love doesn't need anyone's permission. After eight years of contempt, marginalization, and systemic humiliation, the time has come for change. But has change really arrived? Today, from this stage, from the midst of this proud, queer crowd, I want to make it clear: it's not enough to stop hurting us; it's time to start supporting us."
Marzena Zychowicz of the Congress of Women warned against the "brown mud" that, in her opinion, is flooding Poland. She harshly criticized politicians who declare support for the LGBT community but do little. She appealed to the public not to give in to "bands of bullies."
"Just a dozen or so years ago, 15 of us stood at the Monument to the Deeds of Poles in the first rainbow parade," recalled Bogna Czałczyńska, the Marshal's Plenipotentiary for Women and Equal Treatment. "We want our entire lives, we want our entire rights. We won't have any other life. We want to live our lives to the fullest, with rights fully realized, not just declared and invisible."
Several Szczecin politicians attended the march, including Civic Coalition councilors Wiktoria Rogaczewska, Przemysław Słowik, and Andrzej Radziwinowicz. Also present was the city's most prominent New Left politician, MP Dariusz Wieczorek.
"I'm here because I support equality, and I want young people to know that Poland is a country for everyone. There's a lot of aggression in the debate, a lot of unnecessary attacks on the LGBT community," the MP said. "The left is doing a lot for the LGBT community, but we haven't been able to pass the bills – including those on civil partnerships – which require a majority in the Sejm. We're not giving up. In retrospect, we made one mistake. We should have passed these bills last year."

What cheerful people? They're always complaining about everything: that they're not equal, that they're not free, that they have to hide, that they've been wronged for eight years, etc. And yet they just wanted to visit each other in hospitals, and yet no one wants them to be in hospitals, only healthy people willingly working for the National Economy instead of marching with Comrade Wieczorek.

A disgrace and shame for Szczecin. These councilors and this pseudo-friend of the rainbow marshal are a complete disgrace.

a parade of pride... if only something would come of it... sterile, barren, pretentious

Even if it was just one person walking for a good cause, it would be worth noting.

Doesn't matter

How many wanted to spend their holiday together? Even a small group has every right to do so, and we cannot stigmatize it in any way. I'm not interested in it, but I have nothing against them wanting to be together and feel free and fully accepted in our community. I accept their choice and freedom, but please don't let them suggest this to my children!

You're right. Your comment suffices for all the others.

I don't know anything about it

They're allowed to march, demonstrate with colorful flags. It's their holiday, let them have fun with each other! I'm offended by the dressing up, the strange makeup, and other unusual perversions! As a friend says: perversions vary! Unfortunately, a small percentage of this diversity can't and shouldn't impose their own views on the majority. Without being pushy, they're acceptable. I don't care if someone loves differently, but don't suggest it to me. It disgusts me, and you have to understand that!

Kurier - 1,000 people. Głos Szczeciński - 2,000 people. Gazeta Wyborcza will have 3,000 people. And I say 4,000. What, only Tusk is allowed?

"About a thousand people took part in the march." "And apparently there are several million of them in the country... And here we have only about 1,000 – and that's after the arrival of probably several busloads of professional activists, a few stray passersby, and those who just came for a laugh? A staggering result. But that's actually a good sign. Apparently, people don't care about these neo-leftist brainwashings and distractions from the real problems in the economy and everyday life. Poking holes in your ears doesn't increase the number of rolls in your breadbox.

No pomposity, no hatred. A fun, colorful march of cheerful people. I hope there are more events like this in Szczecin.
