The Szczecin Waste Disposal Plant is looking for an entity that will perform the function of geological supervision and supervision during works related to a geothermal drilling at ul. Dąbska in Szczecin . Potential contractors can submit their offers until June 10, 2025. The tender procedure in which the drilling contractor will be selected will be announced at a later date.

For the implementation of the investment, Szczecin received funding from the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in the amount of PLN 12.9 million.

Officials point out that Szczecin is located in an area with good geothermal conditions, the temperature of underground water (at smaller depths characterized by significant salinity) is 60-80 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, the value of the heat flow in the Szczecin area is one of the highest in Poland . However, only a test borehole will allow for the assessment of the actual water parameters, as well as the final costs of the entire investment and its profitability.
