Tragic accident of Rosomak. Young soldier dies, another is wounded

The General Command of the Armed Forces informed in a social media message that on the night from Thursday to Friday, at approximately midnight, at the barracks training ground in Załuski near Nidzica (Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship), during a night adaptive ride, a wheeled armoured personnel carrier Rosomak overturned.
"As a result of an incident during program classes, a soldier from the 16th Mechanized Division died. The second soldier was slightly injured and is in hospital, his life is not in danger. The family of the deceased soldier has been provided with assistance. The commission will clarify all the causes of the accident. The investigation is being conducted by the Military Police Department from Elbląg," reads the further part of the statement of the General Staff of the Armed Forces.
The Minister of National Defense also spoke, and his entry is consistent with the information from the General Command of the Armed Forces. "A soldier from the 16th Mechanized Division died at night in Załuski during an exercise. I offer my condolences to his family, my thoughts and prayers are with them. The family has the support of a psychologist and is under the care of the military. The causes of the accident will be investigated by the Military Police," wrote Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.
RMF FM reported that the soldier who died was 25 years old. The tragedy was said to have occurred for reasons that have not yet been determined on a straight section of a dirt road. A soldier from the 14th anti-tank regiment in Suwałki was crushed. The injured driver was transported to a hospital in Działdowo.
