Work is underway to ensure water supply safety for the hospital and other facilities in the area of Unii Lubelskiej Street in Szczecin. The next stage of work, related to the temporary shutdown of water for residents, is scheduled for the night of June 10/11 from 10:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

On Tuesday, June 10, after 10:30 p.m., a section of the DN200 water supply network is scheduled to be shut down in the area of Unii Lubelskiej Street on the section from Litewska Street to Wojska Polskiego. During this time, the contractor, Musing Bud, will install a node with gate valves on the existing water supply. It will connect the new water supply network, already constructed in Jackowskiego and Unii Lubelskiej Streets (along the hospital) with the existing pipeline. The construction of a new node will allow the old network from the 1940s, whose technical condition and efficiency do not meet current needs, to be shut down. At night, buildings in the area of Litewska and Unii Lubelskiej Streets (on the left, driving down to Wojska Polskiego) will not have water.

Litewska Street: Rzemieślnicza 2, 1, 4, 4A; Litewska 14, 20, 24 and Wojska Polskiego 198F, 198G, 198H.

Unia Lubelskiej Street (from Litewska to Wojska Polskiego): Unia Lubelskiej 13A, 13, 12, 11B, 11A, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3B, 3A, 3, 2; Zakładowa 11; Unia Lubelskiej 2A, 2B; Zakładowa 2, 2A, 4, 4A, 6, 6A and Wojska Polskiego 184B.

– The works cover a total of almost 1,000 m of water supply. The task is to ensure safe access to water for the hospital and other nearby entities – informs the spokesperson of ZBiLK Hanna Pieczyńska. – The expansion of the facility and the new PUM building complex could potentially cause problems with pressure and flow if we did not carry out the works. Additionally, part of the current infrastructure consists of old pipes that are several decades old. Hence the decision to carry out works that may be burdensome. We would like to remind you that other entities are also carrying out their works in this area.

The new water supply will be laid using the trench method, in short sections, to ensure ambulance access to the hospital. The progress of the work is currently estimated at about 80 percent. After the new junction is completed, about 180 m of the old DN200 pipe will be replaced towards Modrzewskiego Street. The scope of the order also includes the reconstruction of the bus bay surface in Klonowica Street.

The work will be carried out in stages and should be completed in early 2026.
