Will the school fight for the student?

In recent years, there has been a lot of talk about the fact that students who finish their primary education are choosing secondary schools more and more deliberately, thinking ahead. Until now, high schools were number one in Przemyśl, and it was there that the fiercest competition for places took place. This trend is apparently not changing?
[middle1]- In Przemyśl, a large proportion of students still consider high school first when choosing their further education path. This can be seen in the number of applications submitted and first preference indications, which may have various reasons. When it comes to technical schools in Przemyśl, the offer is shrinking year by year and the catalogue of courses that young people can choose from is shrinking. Looking at the offer from schools in other counties, such as Jarosław or Leżajsk, one can see that institutions that have a wide range of educational courses and at the same time a very developed teaching base, especially when it comes to workshops or laboratories, win in this competition.
And what about vocational schools, or so-called professional schools? In recent years, the Ministry of Education has been strongly promoting vocational schools, including first-degree vocational schools, because they provide a specific skill in hand, and there is a shortage of good specialists on the market... Meanwhile, the numbers show that there are still the fewest people willing to attend them.
- It will probably take some time to rebuild the position of this type of education. For now, however, it is clear that young people are more willing to go to technical schools than to vocational schools of the first degree, although after completing the latter, you can continue your education in secondary schools. Looking at the data from Przemyśl, it is clear that vocational schools are often attended by young people who achieved low results in primary school, and such results do not predispose them to education in schools ending with the Matura exam.
Three years ago, there was a double age group competing for places in secondary schools and we had the opportunity to observe a fierce competition for points that were decisive for admission. So now that we don't have a double age group, will it be easier to get into your dream school?
- It all depends on how many places a given governing body has secured in each type of school. And how well they are matched to the number of students in the population. There are municipalities that are guided by the philosophy of creating a very wide range of offers, so that young people can freely...
