Photovoltaics cut to zero. Panel owners every other day by the wall

Photovoltaics cut to zero. Panel owners every other day by the wall
  • Non-market redispatching of energy occurs when there is too much electricity generated in relation to demand and the possibility of storage and export.
  • Nearly 90 percent of restrictions in energy production from renewable sources concerned large-scale photovoltaic installations.
  • Every year, there are more and more cases in which PSE has no other choice but to apply non-market management of RES, especially photovoltaic installations.

Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne (PSE), the operator of the national power grid, has published a notice regarding the right to compensation for non-market management of photovoltaics . What is it? It is an order to reduce the production of electricity in photovoltaic installations connected to the national power system - writes the portal bizblog.spidersweb.pl.

Non-market redispatching of photovoltaics occurs when electricity generation is too high in relation to demand and the possibility of energy storage and export.

Nearly 90 percent of the restrictions in renewable energy production concerned large-scale photovoltaic installations. With each passing year, there are more and more cases in which PSE has no other choice but to apply non-market management of renewable energy, especially photovoltaic installations.

Photovoltaic shutdown command issued every other day

From the beginning of 2025 to May 8, such non-market redispatching of RES installation capacity took place during 54 days

- writes bizblog.spidersweb.pl.

Considering that it is mid-May, this PSE order regarding solar energy is implemented almost every other day . They are issued when it is necessary to maintain safe operation of the system in terms of the ability to manage technical parameters or resistance to interference.

As calculated by bizblog.spidersweb.pl, in 2024 non-market redispatching concerned a total of 713 GWh of energy from renewable sources, mainly photovoltaics. After more than five months of 2025, it is already 251.3 GWh.
