Up to PLN 600 in electricity subsidies. PFRON reminds about important criteria

• PFRON announced a new call for applications for electricity subsidies for people with disabilities
• New users of an oxygen concentrator or respirator will be able to apply for the supplement.
• On July 11, it will be possible to submit applications in the Support Service System financed by PFRON
• The subsidy covers energy costs incurred up to 180 days before submitting the application

As reported by PFRON, a new application process for electricity subsidies for the sick is starting. The money will be available to the sick - new users of an oxygen concentrator or a respirator.

The Fund reminds that from 1 July 2025, an application for funding will be able to be submitted by people who use one of the following benefits at home:

• home hospice,
• palliative care,
• long-term nursing care,
• based on the recommendation of a medical specialist.

In addition, the application for funding will also be able to be submitted by people who have been able to apply for such funding so far, i.e. people who use one of the following benefits at home:

• long-term home care team for mechanically ventilated patients,
• long-term home care team for mechanically ventilated children,
• home oxygen therapy clinic/centre/team.

- Note! If you are a person who uses one of the above-mentioned benefits at home, and the oxygen concentrator or respirator that you use is rented or purchased from your own funds, you will also be able to submit an application - explains PFRON.

At the same time, PFRON emphasizes that the application for the supplement should be submitted to the "Active Local Government" program Area E - assistance in continuing rehabilitation in the form of home ventilation. This will be possible from July 11, 2025 in the Support Service System financed by PFRON (SOW): https://sow.pfron.org.pl/ .

The application can be submitted until December 31, 2025.

Who can apply? How much will the electricity allowance be?

PFRON points out that the application can be submitted:

• in your own name – when you are of age and have legal capacity,
• on behalf of and for the benefit of a minor – if you are the parent or legal guardian of that person,
• on behalf of and for the benefit of an adult person who does not have legal capacity - when you are the legal guardian of that person, on behalf of the person who granted you a power of attorney (notary or in ordinary written form) - a template of such a power of attorney can be found at: Powers of attorney in SOW in ordinary written form - SOW information portal (pfron.org.pl)

This supplement is for "covering the costs of electricity charges, due to the fact that you constantly and intensively use an oxygen concentrator or respirator and have increased electricity consumption". PFRON emphasizes that the supplement is received in the form of a refund of electricity costs, i.e. after they have been paid.

The allowance is PLN 100 per month . It can be received for a maximum period of 6 months (PLN 100 per month) and a minimum period of 3 months (PLN 100 per month). The allowance is paid for a full month.

- Since the program for Area E is based on the principle of reimbursement of costs incurred up to 180 days before submitting the application, new recipients of assistance - users of an oxygen concentrator or a respirator at home, who submit an application by July 30, 2025, may apply for the supplement for 6 months - starting from January 2025 - indicates the Fund.

An application submitted after this date (e.g. 31 July 2025) may include the supplement from February 2025.
