Omega revives iconic watch model. Two new versions for vintage fans

The Railmaster, one of Omega's most iconic models, is back in a new version. What can we expect? Gradient dials and an exceptionally minimalist aesthetic.

A quick history lesson: Let’s go back to 1957, when Omega introduced the first Railmaster . The model was part of the “Professional Line” series, which paid tribute to racing drivers ( Speedmaster ), divers ( Seamaster ) and, yes, railway workers.

The Railmaster was the perfect option for them, but also for engineers , industrialists and scientists who were exposed to magnetic fields during their work. Thanks to its internal protective case, the watch was resistant to magnetic fields up to a thousand gauss. The vast majority of timepieces at the time could not boast this.

Over time, of course, "normal" users also fell in love with the watches. The Railmaster collection gained fans primarily because of its vintage style , which is still impressive today. Since 2003, several refreshed versions have been created, and now Omega has announced two new ones. Ready?

To ensure the new models remain true to the brand’s signature style, their symmetrical cases and bracelets echo the aesthetics of the Seamaster Aqua Terra collection. This approach has been used across all Railmaster models since 2003 and ensures consistency across the watch families.

Well, what can we expect from this year's " freshies" ? Both models have a diameter of 38 millimeters, and their cases and bracelets are made of steel with polished and brushed surfaces.

The first model has a grey dial and a black gradient . The model follows the minimalist spirit of the original: only the Omega logo and the Railmaster signature are visible on the dial. The large indexes and numerals are covered with white Super-LumiNova , which ensures excellent legibility at all times.

The watch is available on a black leather strap or a steel bracelet with redesigned links, better integration and convenient adjustment options.

The second version has a beige dial with a black gradient and refers more to the Railmaster model from 2004. The timepiece is equipped with a so-called small seconds function , which gives it a unique look. The indexes and numbers are covered with Super-LumiNova in a vintage style.

This option is available on a brown Novonappa leather strap or a steel bracelet with redesigned links.

The new models are powered by advanced movements: Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8806 and 8804 for the small seconds version, which are up to 15 times more resistant than the original Railmaster models.
