Is there a city where life is like in a fairy tale? The latest "Happy City Index" ranking shows that the happiness of its residents can be measured, and Poland has reasons to be proud.
In the latest "Happy City Index 2025" ranking developed by the British Institute for Quality of Life , Gdynia was ranked 97th out of 250 cities assessed , winning a silver distinction . This is the highest position among Polish cities. Experts appreciated Gdynia for its favorable environmental conditions, which affect the high quality of life of its residents.

In addition to Gdynia, 9 other Polish cities were also included in this prestigious list. Białystok was ranked ten places lower (132nd position). Then , Gdańsk (139th place), Kraków (147th), Lublin (155th), Bydgoszcz (161st), Warsaw (175th), Sopot (180th) and Częstochowa (189th) were distinguished. As a result, the entire Tri-City was included in the ranking.
Europe dominates the rankingCopenhagen topped the Happy City Index 2025, with 1,039 points and a gold distinction . The Danish capital stands out for its universal healthcare, sustainable development and high quality of life. Zurich and Singapore also made it to the podium, with Aarhus and Antwerp close behind.
The "Happy City Index" ranking shows that the happiness of its residents is not a coincidence, but the result of a conscious city policy. Gdynia, by investing in the environment, health and quality of life, is becoming a model for other Polish cities. This is proof that happiness has its address - on the Baltic Sea.
