A new addition to Motor Lublin! This is a product of power!
This is the fourth player acquired by Motor before the start of the season, previously contracts were signed with Kacper Karasek, Karol Czubak and Kosovo representative Florian Haxha.
Rodrigues is a product of FC Porto's youth academy, making his senior first-team debut at the age of 20. He also played for Vitoria Guimaraes, FC Arouca, and FC Pacos de Ferreira before moving to Royal Antwerp FC, where he won the Belgian Cup.
After returning to Portugal (with a one-year break to play for Saudi Arabian club Al Khaleej), he played for clubs such as FC Famalicao, FC Arouca and Moreirense FC.
In his career so far, the 30-year-old midfielder has played a total of 151 matches in the Liga Portugal, 55 in the back four, as well as 63 in the Belgian top flight and 30 in the Saudi league.
"Ivo is a versatile player. He's most comfortable in midfield, but has also played on the wide areas. He's good at playing in tight spaces. We expect him to be a major asset to our team," says Paweł Golański, Motor Sporting Director.
The new player, in an interview with the club media, expressed his surprise at how professional everything looks at the club.
On Friday, the last day of the training camp in Sochocin, Mateusz Stolarski's players will play a friendly against Wisła Płock.
The Ekstraklasa season will kick off on July 20 at the Motor Lublin Arena, hosting Arka Gdynia. (PAP)
