Fierce fight for the basketball championship. There will be a fifth match in Krosno
Astoria lost on Saturday at home 72:73, while after the first two games in Krosno there was a 1:1 draw. The team from Podkarpacie was the leader of the 1st league after the regular season with a balance of 26-8, while Astoria was second (25-9).
A year ago, the club from Bydgoszcz lost the fight for promotion to the Orlen Basket Basketball League to Górnik Zamek Książ Wałbrzych 1-3.
Astoria left the Ekstraklasa in 2023 (after four years of playing), while the team from Krosno spent its last season in the Ekstraklasa in the 2017/18 season. The club, founded in 2000, advanced to the Ekstraklasa in 2016, when it defeated Legia Warszawa 3-2 in the fight for the 1st league championship.
