Iga Świątek has a huge opportunity ahead of her! A sixth Grand Slam final is on the horizon.

Iga Świątek will play Swiss tennis player Belinda Bencic in the Wimbledon semifinals on Thursday after 4:00 PM Polish time. The Polish tennis player will be aiming for her sixth career Grand Slam final, but her first in London.

In the first semifinal at 2:30 PM, WTA ranking leader Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus will play American Amanda Anisimova. After them, Świątek and Bencic will take to the court.

The Swiss has never played in a Grand Slam final. She only reached the top four at the 2019 US Open. Her greatest success is a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics. The 24-year-old from Raszyn is a five-time champion at this level (four French Opens and one US Open).

They have previously played each other four times, with Świątek having won three. Their most recent encounter took place in the round of 16 at Wimbledon 2023. After a fierce battle, Świątek defeated her four-year-old rival 6-7 (4-7), 7-6 (7-2), 6-3. Bencic's only victory came in the round of 16 at the US Open 2021.

This is Świątek's third Grand Slam semifinal this season. She failed to reach the final at the Australian Open and the French Open, and in Melbourne, she was only one point away from reaching the final.

The Iga Świątek vs. Belinda Bencic match will be broadcast live on Thursday on Polsat, Polsat Sport 1, Polsat Sport Premium 1, and online on Polsat Box Go. The Świątek vs. Bencic match will begin at approximately 4:30 p.m., following the conclusion of the Aryna Sabalenka vs. Amanda Anisimova match, which is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m.
