Last week before the final in Łódź…

At the World Championships in Thailand, probably too, but let's leave that for now, because there's still some time left until that event. Now we're already living the Łódź final, even though the Poles still have four more matches to play in Japan, against Korea, Brazil, Japan and Bulgaria. Nothing changes in our expectations, despite a certain participation in the final game, we're taking the balance of two to two blindly, which is exactly how we approached the competition in Beijing and the aforementioned Belgrade, where it ended with three wins and one loss, respectively, with a point won after a tie-break and four wins.

In the first part of the national team season, we often referred to the friendly tournament in Koszalin, where our team's performance was so-so, but we were more interested in establishing a hierarchy in the team in individual positions than in the players' performance at that time. And while minor injuries suffered by Julita Piasecka and Weronika Centka-Tietianiec slightly disrupted the structure of the team that was then preparing for the trip to China, nothing can disrupt this structure now - not even individual weaker performances by individual players, who can feel very comfortable due to Lavarini's great patience. This mainly concerns the convalescents, who were at a slightly different level of preparation for the game in Belgrade compared to the rest of the team. Now, however, all this should be balanced.
In strictly personal matters, the most discussion is about the lack of a call-up to the tournament in Japan and the penultimate one in Belgrade for Oliwia Różański and Dominika Pierzchała. More telling is the absence of the former volleyball player, who earned the nickname of Lavarini's "soldier" for special tasks and from the moment he took over the national team, was a leading volleyball player, having a huge impact on all the successes so far - medals of the Nations League and Olympic qualification (at the games themselves Oliwia was a reserve). Let's also remember that in the initial phase of Lavarini's work, in the absence of the main attackers Magdalena Stysiak and Malwina Smarzek, she was an alternative and help for Monika Gałkowska in the attacking position. As of today, it looks like this: in the ranking of Lavarini's receivers, apart from Martyna Czyrniańska and Martyna Łukasik, the actions of the aforementioned Piasecka and Paulina Damaske are higher.
The Polish women have a certain participation in the Łódź final, it is also known that regardless of the results of the last qualifying matches, they will play their match in the quarterfinals at the Atlas Arena on Wednesday, July 23 at 8:00 p.m. For now, it is not yet known who they will play against, for today our opponents would be the Germans, but that may still change. Therefore, from our perspective, it is worth taking care of maintaining the position won after the tournaments in Beijing and Belgrade.
