Legia's coach lashed out at the club's management. "This can't happen again."

Legia defeated Aktobe 1-0 in the first leg of their Europa League qualifying campaign on the debut of new coach Edward Iordanescu. However, he was dissatisfied with both the result and the performance, and was angered mainly by the Maxi Oyedele affair.

Romanian journalists had previously reported that the coach was angry with the club's management for the lack of transfers. Meanwhile, not only did he not have a single new player for the match against Aktobe, but Oyedele also didn't play. According to the website Meczyki, he is preparing to leave the club for Strasbourg.

"Nothing is certain right now, but I don't feel comfortable. We should go left or right. Tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, it will be clear. We have important matches in three days, we can't lose any more players, otherwise we'll be constantly going up and down. This situation cannot happen again," Iordanescu thundered. Until now, he had been more diplomatic in his statements and refused to publicly criticize the club's management.

Edward Iordanescu on the result from Aktobe

He wasn't satisfied with the result or the performance either. "I expected more, and I expected more, but in this match, it was clear that one team is already playing, while the other is just starting their season. I'm convinced it's just a matter of playing more matches and we'll look better. We need to focus on recovery – several players were missing on Thursday. I don't like to talk about things like this before a match because I want to focus on the matches and find the best solutions, but that's the reality. We won, and we have options for a rematch. I congratulate the players for their efforts. Legia will raise their level," he assured.

"I'm not happy, my mentality is that I can't celebrate a 1-0. There wasn't enough intensity in our game, I want more through balls, quicker movements. We need to decide these matches faster," he said.

He also addressed the injuries to Ruben Vinagre and Claude Goncalves. "I hope they'll return to training with the team in the next few days. They're not serious injuries, but we didn't want to take any chances because they needed time," the coach said.
