Table Tennis World Championships: Samuel Kulczycki started with a win
Kulczycki had no trouble with the Nigerian representative Matthew Kuti, winning 4:0 (11:1, 13:11, 11:5, 11:5). The Pole was eliminated in the doubles, where the competition began from the 1/32 final. In a duet with Miłosz Redzimski, they lost to the Japanese doubles Hiroto Shinozuka, Shunsuke Togami 0:3.
In the women’s singles competition, Zuzanna Wielgos lost on Sunday in the 1/64 final to China’s Wang Manyu 1:4 (3:11, 6:11, 4:11, 13:11, 4:11).
Wielgos also failed in the doubles, where she played in a pair with Katarzyna Węgrzyn. The Polish team lost in the 1/32 final to the Chinese team - Wang Manyu and Kuai Man 0:3.
Natalia Bajor and Slovak Tatiana Kukulkova easily defeated the Nigerian pair Kabirat Ayoola, Ajoke Ojomu 3-0.
The day before, Bajor, who won gold medals at the Polish singles, doubles and mixed championships in Białystok in March, won her match in the 1/64 singles final. At this stage, Węgrzyn was eliminated, and among the men, the national champion Redzimski.
