The Polish club has introduced a new coach. He's a former Jastrzębski Węgiel volleyball player.

Sebastian Devash has been appointed the new head coach of Energa MKS Kalisz volleyball team. He previously played for PlusLiga clubs, including Jastrzębski Węgiel, and represented Poland at cadet, junior, and national team levels.

Sebastian Devash (born 1985) played receiver and played in the Polish leagues for years under the surname Pęcherz. In 2015, he married Israeli volleyball player Galia Devash and adopted her surname.

He began his volleyball career in his hometown of Rybnik, first representing RMKS Rybnik and then UKS Grom. In 2003, he moved to Radlin and, with Górnik, won promotion to the Polish Volleyball League. In 2005, he joined Jadar Radom, with whom he also won promotion to the top division. He later joined Jastrzębski Węgiel (2008–10), with whom he won a runner-up finish and the Polish Cup. He played in the top volleyball league for a total of five seasons, appearing in 109 matches.

In subsequent years, he played in the French Pro B league (Chaumont VB 52), the German top league (ABC Titans Berg Land), and in Israel, where he represented Hapoel Mate-Asher Akko and Hapoel Yoav Kfar Saba, before finishing his playing career with Maccabi Tel Aviv. Internationally, he represented Poland at the cadet and junior levels, and in the second national team.

While still an active player, he began coaching. From 2015 to 2017, he was an assistant coach for the Israeli women's national team, and from 2022 to 2025, he coached Hapoel Kfar Saba, winning the national championship and the national cup. Now, it's time for a new chapter in his career – starting in the 2025/26 season, he will become the head coach of the Energa MKS Kalisz volleyball team.

"I'm very happy and excited to be working at a club with such a beautiful history and tradition. I hope that together with the fans, we can restore Energa MKS to the place it deserves," said Sebastian Devash, as quoted by club media.

The Kalisz-based club is a four-time Polish women's volleyball champion. Last season, however, wasn't a success. Energa MKS finished last in the table and was relegated from the Tauron League. Will they be able to return to the league with the help of a new coach?
