The volleyball players opened the season brilliantly. The talent of the Polish representative shone the brightest

It is worth recalling that the Polish volleyball players officially started playing a few days before the VNL tournament in China started. Fans could see the team of coach Stefano Lavarine live during the tournament in Koszalin. What is important, from the perspective of team morale, the Polish women reached for victory in the Koszalin competition.

There is no doubt that the volleyball player who stood out during the tournament in Koszalin was Martyna Czyrniańska . The player, who is only 21 years old, proved once again that Polish volleyball has a truly great talent in its ranks. What's more, the player has already won several important events in the national team, so it is possible that the "Olympic cycle" that has just opened will also be an opening for Czyrniańska, as one of the leaders of the national team.

During Wednesday's opening match of the VNL for the Polish women, the receiver, who has been playing in the Turkish league since the 2023/24 season, scored the most points for the team. It was Martyn's day in the Polish team, because Czyrniańska's partner in the receiving duo, Martyna Łukasik, put in a good performance.

The Polish team won in three sets against the Thais (25:22, 26:24, 25:22). Coach Lavarini's team is only at the beginning of the national team season and it was visible, especially looking at the worrying stoppages during the match. Fortunately, even when the opponents were gaining ground, taking the lead or making up for significant point losses, the Polish team was able to close out individual sets.

The aforementioned Czyrniańska scored 17 points, playing at a 64 percent attack rate (22 attacks). She also had 24 receptions (38 percent, 21 percent perfect), two service aces and one block point. In the latter statistic, according to unwritten tradition, Agnieszka Korneluk was the star. The captain of the Polish team scored four points in this element. The most important thing, however, is that the Polish team opened the Nations League season very successfully.

When is the next match of the Polish women's volleyball team? Where to watch?

The match with Thailand was the first for the Polish team during the several-day tournament in Beijing. On Thursday (i.e. June 5), the Polish team will face the hosts. The match China - Poland at 1:30 PM Polish time. Then a day off (Friday, June 6) and a return to playing on the weekend. On Saturday, the Polish team will play against the Turks (8:50 AM), and on Sunday, at the end of the tournament in China, the match Belgium - Poland will take place (5:20 AM).
