Will he be the new coach of the Polish national team? PZPZ has its favorite
A few weeks ago, probably few expected that June would be such a hot month in terms of new names on the coaching carousel in the context of the Polish national team. A few days ago, after losing the World Cup qualifier in Helsinki to Finland 1:2, Michał Probierz resigned from his position as the coach of the Polish national team. There is not much time to choose a new coach, so the Polish Football Association quickly got to work.

In an interview with WP Sportowe Fakty, the Secretary General of the Polish Football Association revealed which names from abroad are being considered in the context of the new national team coach.
- Contrary to appearances, there aren't many of these offers. Nenad Bjelica, Gianni De Biasi, Jesus Casas have applied. You could say that these are official candidates. I would rather treat the rest in the sphere of consideration - commented Łukasz Wachowski.
When asked about the name of a coach from abroad who knows the realities of Polish football well, Kosta Runjaić, who in the past managed Pogoń Szczecin and Legia Warsaw and is currently the coach of the Italian Udinese, Łukasz Wachowski admitted that they are considering him, but he is definitely not one of the first candidates.
- It's hard to say if it's possible, because coach Runjaić has a valid contract with Udinese. But he's on the table. - said Wachowski.
After Michał Probierz resigned, PZPN president Cezary Kulesza indicated four names of Polish coaches who have the greatest chance of taking the position. We are talking about Jan Urban, Jacek Magier, Adam Nawałka and Jerzy Brzęczek. It turns out that the Polish Football Association has one, main favorite to take the position.
- When it comes to coach Skorża's experience abroad, with the national team, the successes he achieved and his training profile, he is our number 1 - confirmed Łukasz Wachowski, an interlocutor of WP Sportowe Frakty.
Maciej Skorża is currently in the US, where the team he leads, Urawa Red Diamonds, is taking part in the Club World Championship. PZPN president Cezary Kulesza also flew to the States a few days ago to meet with the candidate for coach.
The PZPN Secretary General also indicated the optimal date for selecting a new coach. As it turns out, there is not much time left.
- It would be best to do it before the elections in the Polish Football Association, i.e. by the last day of June - concluded Łukasz Wachowski.
