Reasons? Firstly, because of the summer signing of a new European goalkeeper. It's Joan Garcia, a 24-year-old goalkeeper who was brought in from Barca's local rivals, Espanyol. Secondly, Szczęsny has just extended his contract for two more seasons. Keeping a third-rate goalkeeper on the payroll is no business for Barcelona at the moment. One thing is for sure, it's caused a huge stir.
However, Spanish and Catalan media report that ter Stegen has no intention of giving up. Above all, the German does not want to leave Barcelona, even in the face of Garcia's transfers and a new contract for the Pole .
The former captain wants to speak to the Barca coach. His compatriot, Hansi Flick, may have no choice but to clearly indicate the transfer direction for the experienced goalkeeper.
